Andy Pettitte Autographed Baseball

Andy Pettitte was still pitching- still as focused as ever- and of course he was still pitching for the Yankees. But fans throughout Yankee Stadium in the late innings of Game 2 of the 2003 World Series could have cared less that Pettitte didn't need any distractions. Like the fans did with Paul O'Neill two years prior in Game 5 of the 2001 Series- all of Yankee Stadium began chanting Andy Pettitte- Andy Pettitte- Andy Pettitte. The fans realized that it could be his final start as a Yankee at the Stadium- and they wanted him to know just how special his nine years- 149 victories and countless big game performances in pinstripes were. Pettitte walked off the mound that night and raised his cap to the crowd one last time. The main difference- of course- is that O'Neill stood alone in right field and wasn't the center of attenion on the mound. So as it turned out- Pettitte's final start came in Game 6 of the Series- and in December of that year he returned home- signing with the Houston Astros. Andy Pettitte has hand signed this MLB baseball- which comes complete with a Steiner Sports certificate of authenticity.
