June 21, 2006 - Topps announces that it has created two special sets for the upcoming National Collector’s Convention in Anaheim, Ca. One is available exclusively through the show’s VIP package and the other is available via wrapper redemption at the Topps Booth.
VIP CARDS
Topps returns to “The National” with its popular “Cards That Never Were”. Topps has created 5 cards that never were – one from 1955 and four from 1956. The cards not only stay true to original design with its look and feel, but are also in the original size of the 1955 and 1956 cards. One 4-card cello pack will be issued to each VIP guest. The subjects are as follows:

1956 Duke Snider, N.L. Homerun King # 342
1956 Brooks Robinson Rookie Card # 343

WRAPPER REDEMPTION
Topps has created a special 8-card Allen & Ginter set that pays homage to Anaheim/Los Angeles-Area sports stars. Collectors opening 3 packs of any 2006 Topps/Bowman product (only 2006 Baseball, 2006 Football and 2005-06 Basketball) can redeem their 3 wrappers for the following exclusive Allen & Ginter Cards. Collectors will have choice between a regular 2 ˝ x 3 ˝ version and a mini version (original sized).
