EA SPORTS™ Madden NFL 07 Trading Cards Available in Packs of 2006 Topps Football

New York, NY (Aug 14, 2006) – The Topps Company and Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS), the producers of hit sports video games such as the popular MADDEN NFL franchise, have announced a marketing alliance to increase the overall awareness of trading card collecting among video game users, it was announced today by Mark Sapir, Director of Kids Marketing for Topps, and Chris Erb Director of Marketing for EA SPORTS.

Topps and EA have created a unique 20-player trading card set called “EA SPORTS INSIDERS” featuring the 20 brightest stars in the game including names such as Peyton Manning, Shaun Alexander, Terrell Owens and even rookies Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart and Vince Young. The “insiders” cards will be randomly inserted into 2007 Topps Football, the biggest football card product of the year.

For the first time ever, Topps is featuring real screen shots from a sports video game on its trading cards. The Madden NFL graphics look so real and authentic it makes for an amazing looking card. The back of the cards feature “insiders” game information that rates each player by his attribute and gives you an inside look on how the players stack up against one another. The statistics on card backs, which are taken directly from the game, truly capture the essence of the each player’s skill set and enhance the gamer’s playing experience.

Cards can be found in 1 of every 18 packs of 2007 Topps Football cards.

“We are truly excited to enter this alliance with EA SPORTS, " said Mark Sapir, Topps Director of Kids Marketing. "We both live in the same space of delighting sports fans with quality content and the opportunities for us to leverage our synergies are limitless. This is the first step for us to tap into the power of EA and attract new users”.

”This is an exciting opportunity for us to partner with the leading trading card company and reach out to new sports fans around the country,” said Chris Erb, Director of Marketing for the EA SPORTS brand. “The Madden NFL franchise is a cultural phenomenon and we now get to have our own trading cards for the game, which is an amazing opportunity for a sports videogame.”

Founded in 1938 as Topps Chewing Gum, Topps issued its first football cards in 1955 and is an international marketer of entertainment products, principally candy, collectible trading cards and sticker album collections. Topps Internet business includes Topps.com, eTopps.com and TheToppsVault.com.
