Darius LaVar Miles (born October 9, 1981 in Belleville, Illinois) is an American professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA), currently a free agent. The 6 ft 9 in (2.06 m), 235 lb (107 kg/16.8 st) small forward was selected directly out of high school by the Los Angeles Clippers with the 3rd overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft and made the 2001 NBA All-Rookie First Team. His playing career came to a potential end following his release by the Portland Trail Blazers in April 2008 after two years of not participating in any games due to microfracture surgery on his right knee, but eventually he was signed by the Boston Celtics to resume his career
