Michael Jack Schmidt is a former professional baseball player who played his entire career for the Philadelphia Phillies. Schmidt was voted National League MVP three times, an All-Star. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, and he is generally regarded as one of the greatest third basemen in the history of baseball.
